Privacy Policy

Pulse Duo lets two partners send each other custom haptic patterns — silent taps, no text or chat. It's built on a simple principle: your messages are between the two of you, and they live in your own iCloud, not on our servers. This policy explains exactly what that means.

The short version

We don't run any servers, we have no analytics, no ads, and no third-party trackers. Pulse Duo has no account system of its own — it uses your Apple ID through Apple's CloudKit. Your patterns and the pulses you exchange are stored in your own iCloud account. We, the developer, cannot read them.

What Pulse Duo stores, and where

Pulse Duo uses Apple CloudKit (iCloud) as its only backend. The following is stored in your iCloud account and shared privately with your partner through Apple's infrastructure:

Your pairing. A record linking the two partners, identified by your Apple ID's CloudKit user ID (an opaque identifier — not your email or name).
Your haptic patterns. The names, colors, and tap sequences you create.
Your pulse history. A log of pulses sent between you and your partner, with timestamps, shown in the in-app Journal. It contains no message text — only which pattern was sent and when.

This data lives in CloudKit's private and shared databases tied to your Apple ID. Because it's in your iCloud, the developer has no access to its contents.

Pairing codes

To connect, one partner generates a temporary 6-character invite code. While a code is active, it is stored in CloudKit's public database alongside a link your partner uses to join. It contains no personal information, and it is deleted once you're paired.

Notifications

Delivering a pulse uses Apple Push Notification service (silent background pushes) to wake the receiving device. These are handled by Apple and carry no readable message content.

What we do not do

No analytics or usage tracking SDKs.
No advertising or advertising identifiers.
No third-party data sharing or selling — there are no third parties.
No custom servers; we operate no backend that can see your data.

Your control & deleting your data

Disconnect anytime. Using “Disconnect” in the app ends the pairing and removes the shared data (patterns and pulse history) for that couple.
Delete the app to remove it from your device, and manage or delete the associated iCloud data via Settings → [your name] → iCloud on your device.

Children

Pulse Duo is a general-purpose app intended for personal use between partners and is not directed at children under 13.

Payment

Pulse Duo is free and has no in-app purchases. We never receive any payment information.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version on this page.
